Budgeting and Accounting are Different!

It's important to understand the difference between Budgeting and Accounting Programs.

Accounting programs tell you where you have been. They tell you how much money you spent last year, last month and even last week. It is this very design that makes them so unsuitable for private people to use for budgeting.

A budgeting program looks into the future to predict what could happen. Budgeting programs have to be incredibly responsive and flexible otherwise that cannot respond to the changes that are always occurring.

Both Budgeting and Accounting programs are great when we use them in the way they are designed. WARNING: Don't waste your time trying to use an accounting program for your home budget! All you'll get is frustration!
